Coffee Meditation

“Coffee Mediation” is a mural project curated by Discovery Polk and Building 180 in efforts of creating opportunities for women and giving some color to the streets of the Tenderloin. The piece was inspired by the artists experience as a barista, alongside the large coffee community that resides in the bay area. To create something beautiful and capturing, the artist designed vibrant and flowy aromas to carry out summer-like vibrancy, giving a sense of warmth that you get in that relaxing first sip in the morning. Creating a sense of a separate world, the aromas take over the piece and flow through small mounds that represent the hills of San Francisco. Lastly the coffee flower petals that originally grow from coffee trees, also follow the aromas and circle around the woman. The name “Coffee Meditation ” was inspired by a local resident that shared their coffee mediation practice.

Designed and Lead Muralist: Cora Jaeschke

We are located in the heart of San Francisco, a melting pot of culture, language, and art. We encourage our preschoolers to express themselves through art, meaningful play, and constructive social interaction among their peers and with their teachers. Our brand-new facility is equipped with 3,000 square feet of dedicated outdoor space, which allows us to incorporate meaningful play in a natural environment. Our performance stage will give our students the opportunity to explore performance art and music, while our organic garden will serve as a constant reminder to care for one's health and the environment.

A family owned Filipino bakery located in downtown Dublin. They bring their culture to the local community with their unique food and love for art. Having a strong connection to tradition and heritage, the client inquired on ginko leafs on their ceiling to remind them of their home. Using varying hues and colors of the classic leaves bunching them together painted on a sunny day. This allowed to show rays of sunlight peering through the flowers for added effect. Large and high up on scaffolding, a very enjoyable piece.
